Foster Home Agreement
Foster With Intent To Adopt, a Seven-Day Decision Time.

FOSTER HOME POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

The Foster Home opens its doors and hearts to unwanted or stray Golden Retrievers.  The Foster Home provides love, security, and often times the only positive attention the dog has ever known.  Foster Homes are the backbone of the Rescue Organization.

After caring for, training, and bonding with the foster dog, it is the obligation of the Foster Home to relinquish the dog to a permanent home.  Should the Foster Home wish to adopt the dog, they will be given first opportunity for adoption.  They will pay the adoption fee as in any adoption.

 RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE FOSTER HOME

 BASIC CARE/RESPONSIBILITIES

The Foster Home will provide food, water, shelter, exercise and a healthy and safe living environment for the foster dog.

The Foster Home shall have a secure fence, no less than five feet high.

It is understood that the dog will not at any time be chained or placed on a tie-out.  The dog must be kept safe and secure at all times.

When the dog is walked, it must be kept on a leash.  The person handling the dog should be strong and skilled enough to keep the dog under control.

The Foster Home will notify GRRSN immediately if the dog is lost or missing.

 VETERINARY CARE

The Foster Home will transport the foster dog to the veterinary facility used by GRRSN, at their request, for the continuation of any medical treatment.  GRRSN will be responsible for payment of veterinary fees for this approved treatment, including medication.

GRRSN will not cover any veterinary fees that are not previously approved by GRRSN, except in the case of emergency.  Emergency is defined but not limited to any kind of traumatic injury, significant bleeding, eye injury, difficulty breathing, vomiting/diarrhea lasting more than 24 hours, inability to urinate, choking or swallowing a foreign object, ingestion of poison.

When signing in at a vet clinic use only Golden Retriever Rescue Southern Nevada as the owner. Do not use your name. This is a foster dog and GRRSN is the owner. Other than the already pre authorized treatment, NO other treatments or procedures can be preformed. If the veterinarian feels other treatments or procedures may be necessary that clinic MUST call one of our board members for permission. A GRRSN contact list has been provided to that clinic.

In case of emergency, the foster family will transport the dog to the nearest animal emergency clinic and contact the representative of GRRSN at the earliest opportunity.  Said representative of GRRSN will be named at the end of this agreement.

 LIABILITY

While every effort is made to provide as much information possible to the Foster Home concerning this dog, GRRSN does not warrant a dog regarding medical status or behavior.

We try to pass on any information known to us. We assume no liability for information given to us by a former owner or caretaker. You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless for any occurrence known or unknown, anticipated or unanticipated, relating to any dog you Foster for us, its behavior, care, keeping, or maintenance.

I/We, the Foster Home, understand that dogs may carry diseases and parasites that may be transmissible to humans and other animals, and I/we hold GRRSN and/or its representatives harmless.
