Lucky

Lucky

June 6th, 2002- January 13th, 2014

~ Twelve years ago fate lead you to our door. A pound puppy without a home, you gave us unconditional love and so much more. Today we had to say goodbye as it was your time to go. You truly had a heart of gold and will be missed more than you know.

Lucky had been diagnosed in October of 2013 with Hemangiosarcoma that had affected his mouth and jaw. He had already had to have his eye removed a year prior for pigmentary uveitis and had several surgeries to remove the rapidly growing tumors along his jaw line. We were able to spend 4 very special months with him before we had to say our goodbyes. We adopted Lucky from GRRSN when he was about a year old. He had been dropped off at the pound by his previous owners that stated their reason for relinquishing him was that they couldn’t care for him because they had a baby on the way! I can’t imagine who possibly would have given him up, but we truly became the “lucky” ones when he entered our lives. I celebrate the day we found him. He brought so much happiness to us — more then we could have ever imagined. There is something incredible about a rescue. It is as if they know they were given a second chance to live and love. I encourage everyone to adopt. You’ll make a difference in their lives and yours will be changed forever.

Forever in our hearts.

I’ve attached a picture we took of him on his bucket list trip to the beach several months before he passed.
